<p>Search and rescue workers recovered three bodies from the Mississippi River on July 23 after a group of men were reported missing in Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park north of Memphis.</p>
<p>The men were identified as Marlon Mendez, 28, Rudy Perez, 31, and Jose Yanes, 52, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said in a statement on social media.</p>
<p>Patrol deputies were notified after 7 p.m. on July 22 that three adult men were reported missing in the Mississippi River near the Shelby Forest boat ramp, officials said. The men were fishing and swimming on a sand bar south of the boat ramp.</p>
<p>Shelby County officials were joined in the search along the Mississippi River by multiple local, state and federal agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.</p>
<p>The search was suspended around 10:30 p.m. on July 22 but resumed the morning of July 23. The first two bodies were recovered around 11:00 a.m. and the third around 12:45 p.m., officials said.</p>

<p>The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner and the investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff's office.</p>
