<p>Legendary classic rock wife and muse Pattie Boyd shared a never before seen photo of herself and ex-husband George Harrison to celebrate the anniversary of the premiere of the Beatles film Yellow Submarine.</p>
<p>"July 17. On this day in 1968 we attended the premiere of 'Yellow Submarine' in London," Boyd, 81, captioned the photo of herself and her then-husband costumed for the event. "It was chaos! I remember the streets around the theatre were closed-off because of the crowds. I wore some yellow as did George, Ringo & Twiggy and some others."</p>
<p>Boyd and Harrison, who died of lung cancer in November 2001, donned adorable yellow and purple matching outfits. For his part, the guitarist wore a yellow blazer and bucket hat with a purple shirt underneath and Boyd rocked a yellow feathered top and a purple headband.</p>
<p>The image appeared to be one taken on an iPhone of a personal photograph, presumably from Boyd's own collection.</p>

<p>The model first met the Beatles member back when she was cast as an extra in the 1964 film A Hard Day's Night, which ended up giving her the opportunity to perform in a featured scene with the band. After connecting on that shoot, the pair began to date. After a few years, they wed in 1966 — but their marriage only lasted eleven years.</p>
<p>Boyd and Harrison's close friend Eric Clapton became romantically involved and it caused the split between her and Harrison. They divorced in 1977 and she went on to marry Clapton, 80, in 1979 — but they, too, only lasted a decade and divorced in 1989.</p>
<p>In her time with both men, she is said to have been the inspiration for several major hits for both of her exes, including "Something" by The Beatles and "Layla" by Clapton's group Derek and the Dominos.</p>
