Tulsa King is gearing up for a spinoff series, and Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to lead it! Taylor Sheridan, in his multi-million dollar deal with Paramount, has created yet another series for the studio. The new series, NOLA King, will be led by Jackson, whose character will be introduced in Season 3 of Tulsa King, which is slated to premiere in September on Paramount+.

NOLA King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson) who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) during a ten-year stint in federal prison, is sent to Tulsa by New York's Renzetti crime family to take Dwight out once and for all. Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family and friends and to take control of the city he left behind. In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop. Jackson will serve as an executive producer on NOLA King alongside Sheridan and Stallone.

For Paramount, the MCU was the obvious choice for the soon-to-be surefire hit series. "Samuel L. Jackson brings unparalleled presence and global appeal, making him the perfect choice to maximize the momentum of one of our biggest hits and transform it into a hit franchise," said Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment. "Building on the breakout success of Sylvester Stallone's Tulsa King, audiences will now experience the full force of Jackson's dynamic, layered performance — supercharging one of Paramount+'s flagship series."

For Stallone as well, casting Jackson was a no-brainer. "Chris McCarthy came to me with a game-changing idea: to elevate my show beyond a mob boss series, creating a dynamic, family-driven franchise," said the Oscar-winning star of Tulsa King. "I was immediately on board. Sam Jackson is the only choice to anchor this new adventure in NOLA."

With over 200 credits to his name, Samuel L. Jackson first came to viewers' attention in a quartet of Spike Lee films - School Daze, Do the Right Thing, Mo' Better Blues, and Jungle Fever. He later came to prominence in his now iconic role as Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction. His widespread appeal led to even more iconic roles, including Nick Fury in almost a dozen Marvel movies and Jedi Mace Windu in the Star Wars universe.

Taylor Sheridan has drawn A-list talent to many of his series, including several Oscar winners. After Kevin Costner's turn as John Dutton on Yellowstone, Sheridan signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Paramount to create and produce series for their streaming platform, Paramount+. Series he has created include Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner, Tulsa King with Sylvester Stallone, Landman with Billy Bob Thornton, Lioness with Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana, and 1923 with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
