<p>5 Seconds of Summer's Luke Hemmings and his wife, Sierra Deaton, are new parents</p>
<p>The singer-songwriter announced the exciting news via Instagram, saying the pregnancy was their "best kept secret"</p>
<p>Hemmings shared that they couple doesn't "plan on publicizing her name, birthdate, or face any time in the near future"</p>

<p>The 5 Seconds of Summer singer, 29, quietly welcomed his first baby, a daughter, with wife Sierra Deaton, announcing both the pregnancy and the birth news via a joint Instagram post.</p>
<p>In the post, Hemmings shared a few snaps of his newborn — whose name, face, and birthdate hasn't been revealed — and Deaton during her pregnancy. The Boy artist also included a video of him kissing his wife's baby bump.</p>
<p>"Our best kept secret 🤍 Written and Produced by Sierra and Luke Hemmings" he captioned the post.</p>
<p>In the comment section, the newly minted girl dad opened up about why the couple decided to keep his wife's pregnancy, as well as the baby's arrival, a secret. He also explained why they decided now was the right time to reveal the news.</p>
<p>"In our perfect world, we'd keep our daughter a secret forever… for similar reasons we chose to never share our wedding photos from years ago," he began. "However, going into this next album cycle I'm very aware that her existence would inevitably leak."</p>
<p>"To avoid any speculation, we're posting this now and humbly asking for everyone to respect her privacy," he continued. "If you see us in public, please avoid taking or sharing photos of her as we don't plan on publicizing her name, birthdate, or face any time in the near future. Thank you for understanding and for the support. All our love, The Hemmings"</p>
<p>Despite being in the spotlight from a young age, Hemmings notoriously keeps his private life away from the public eye. In fact, he confirmed his marriage to his wife a while after the couple tied the knot.</p>
<p>He spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the Billboard's 2024 Golden Globes afterparty and confirmed that he had tied the knot. When speaking about his eye makeup, he said, "Thank you! My wife did it. Usually I do it for stage but she's taught me well and she did it tonight. It's a big event so she did it."</p>
<p>Then, when asked how married life was treating him, Hemmings replied that things were "good." He added, "It's very good. I love it. She's here tonight, she's somewhere in there."</p>

<p>Hemmings previously hinted that he had gotten married to singer Deaton in 2022 by sharing a TikTok video of him playing the guitar and singing along to her song, "Little Do You Know." A voiceover then said, "When you marry the girl that wrote this banger."</p>
<p>Hemmings got engaged to Deaton in February 2021 after they began dating in 2018. They revealed their engagement news a few months later in June.</p>
<p>The pair shared photos from the special moment on Instagram with Hemmings proposing in a romantic setting in Malibu, Calif., a source told PEOPLE at the time. "With shaking hands but a full heart I proposed to my best friend earlier this year," he wrote. "I love you Thao and I can't imagine my life without you ❤️ @sierradeaton."</p>
