<p>Machine Gun Kelly received full support from Third Eye Blind's frontman Stephan Jenkins.</p>
<p>Over the years, the 35-year-old musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, has earned his place in the rock scene through his rebellious yet emotional songs and high-energy performances.</p>
<p>Among those who were impressed with MGK was the '90s frontman who applauded not just his approach to music but his personality.</p>
<p>Ahead of the band's concert in New York, Jenkins reflected on his meeting with the "Emo Girl" singer, praising him for his sincerity and authenticity.</p>
<p>"He's such a genuine, open-hearted person," he told US Magazine, adding, "You meet him, and it's like you're really getting the real thing. He's sincere, and there's just this genuine feeling that rolls with him."</p>

<p>During the exclusive interview with the outlet, the 60-year-old lead singer admitted that he doesn't always show his true self right away, but said it was different with the singer-rapper.</p>
<p>"I think so many people — most of us and myself included — I've got my shield up, and you're kind of meeting my representative most of the time," he added.</p>
<p>He also put the spotlight on the singer's warm and approachable demeanor, noting that it came across as sincere and far from fake.</p>
<p>"And it's disarming when you meet MGK, because he named himself after a machine gun-wielding felon, and he's just like this really warm presence," Jenkins continued. "But it's not fake. It's not some smarmy anodyne kind of nonsense. There's something genuine about him."</p>
<p>MGK had the opportunity to work alongside Third Eye Blind's frontman for his new album, Lost Americana.</p>
<p>One track from the album includes a nod to the group's hit song.</p>
<p>In a post on X, he shared the surprising story behind his song "Starman" and how he successfully cleared the sample of "Semi-Charmed Life" even after facing resistance from the National Guard.</p>
