<p>Sofia Vergara was forced to skip out on the Emmys due to a last-minute medical emergency.</p>

<p>Vergara, 53, in a post on Instagram, said though she "didn't make it to the Emmys," she "made it to the ER" due to the "craziest eye (allergy) right before getting in the car."</p>

<p>The "Modern Family" star also shared pictures of herself with a swollen right eye and also while lying on the hospital bed and rinsing her eye with water.</p>

<p>While Vergara was not nominated during the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, she was scheduled to present the lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie award. That award was eventually presented to "Adolescence" star Stephen Graham by "The Hunting Wives" actresses Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman.</p>
