- Alec Baldwin Breaks Silence On Car Accident</p>

<p>Alec Baldwin appears to be doing okay after his car accident.</p>
<p>According to TMZ, the Oscar-nominated actor and his brother StephenBaldwin got into an accident in East Hampton, New York, on Monday. The publication alleges the brothers barreled head-first into a tree while driving a Range Rover.</p>
<p>In photos obtained by the outlet, the brothers appeared to be physically unharmed as they surveyed the wreck of the car, and now, Alec has shared a statement to Instagram — confirming everything is okay.</p>
<p>"I got all these inquiries about my car thing this morning. I was in an accident this morning. I'm fine. My brother Stephen was visiting me on Long Island, and we spent the weekend out there for the film festival." he said.</p>
<p>The Baldwin brothers attended the Hamptons International Film Festival this weekend, which ran from Oct. 3 to Oct. 13. The duo attended the Chairman's Brunch at the festival on the evening of Sunday Oct. 12, as Alec is co-chair of the festival's executive committee.</p>
<p>In the video, Alec explained from his perspective what caused the accident and that the car he was driving belonged to his wife Hilaria Baldwin.</p>
<p>"A guy cut me off in a truck, big garbage truck. I mean, a garbage truck the size of a whale," he said. "It must have been something commercial for like, taking away material from construction or something. It was the biggest garbage truck I've ever seen," he explained. "Anyway, I won't go into the details now, I'll bore you, but to avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big, fat tree. I crushed my car, my wife's car. I crushed my wife's car. I feel bad about that."</p>

<p>Alec thanked the East Hampton Police Department for coming to his aid, and specifically shouted out one Officer Gerkin for helping him.</p>
<p>The actor also mentioned he was going to California soon to "gather" his family, who are presumably out there due to Hilaria's tenure on Dancing With The Stars. Hilaria and her partner Gleb Savchenko were eliminated last week despite consistently scoring near the top of the leaderboard.</p>
<p>"I'm still so proud of my wife. Hilaria, I love you more than anything, and I'm very proud of you." Alec said.</p>

<p>Along with his statement, Alec reshared a post from the film festival to his Instagram Story.</p>
<p>The post celebrated the conclusion of the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran from Oct. 3 to Oct. 13.</p>
<p>"From presenting our Closing Night film, the World Premiere of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, and welcoming Director @mariafriedman, to our annual Chairman's Reception, to a morning, afternoon, and evening full of brilliant shorts and feature films, this year's festival was one for the books," the post's caption read. "We have our excellent board, staff, filmmakers, and audience to thank for this year's amazing festival, and hope you can join us for our final screenings at the East Hampton Regal UA tonight ✨❤️"</p>
<p>In the carousel of pictures, Alec is pictured standing alongside the film festival's artistic director David Nugent. In his statement, Alec congratulated Nugent and all who worked to make the festival a success.</p>
