<p>Kate McKinnon is bringing beauty and love to Percy Jackson and the Olympians.</p>
<p>The Saturday Night Live alum has been cast as the Greek goddess Aphrodite in season 3 of the Disney+ series, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed. She will appear in a recurring guest star capacity.</p>
<p>In author Rick Riordan's third Percy Jackson novel, The Titan's Curse, Aphrodite appears before Percy (played by Walker Scobell on the show) to aid him in his quest — while also giving him some grief about his romantic problems, of course.</p>
<p>According to an official character description for the show, the Greek goddess of love and beauty "can alter her appearance depending on the beholder," just as she does in the books. "Aphrodite must be sure that Percy Jackson respects the power and importance of love before she agrees to offer aid on his quest."</p>
<p>McKinnon broke big during her tenure on SNL from 2012 to 2022, earning 10 Emmy nominations and winning twice. Since leaving the NBC comedy series, she has returned to host once. She's also appeared in movies including Bombshell, the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, and Barbie, as well as on the TV show Joe vs. Carole.</p>
<p>McKinnon is the latest to join Percy Jackson season 3 in a major role, after Dafne Keen (Deadpool & Wolverine, His Dark Materials) was cast as the powerful goddess Artemis, the twin sister of Apollo, and Saara Chaudry (The Mysterious Benedict Society) was cast as Zoë Nightshade, the loyal lieutenant to Artemis and first-ever immortal Hunter.</p>
<p>They join previously announced season 3 newcomers Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie, who will play demigod siblings Leo and Bianca di Angelo.</p>

<p>Season 3 is currently in production in Vancouver, based on The Titan's Curse. Season 2, based on Riordan's book Sea of Monsters, will premiere Dec. 10 on Disney+.</p>
