Charlize Theron posed on the red carpet at the Academy Museum Gala on October 17.
She wore a sheer Art Deco-esque black naked dress.
She also rocked a slicked-back bob with a fan on microbangs on one side of her forehead.
Charlize Theron just gave new meaning to the phrase “wearable art.”
Attending the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17, the actress wore a dazzling black naked Tom Ford dress covered in Art Deco-inspired sequined detailing with geometric patterned paneling. The sleeveless bodicee featured intricate beading and a sheer center panel. The skirt featured diamond mesh panels that gave way to a sheer black maxi skirt. She completed the look with black strappy heels and Boucheron jewelry, including bold statement arrow earrings and an assortment of silver stacked rings.

The actress, who took home the Icon Award at the event, added some extra edge with her hair, rocking her bob in a slicked back look with her new side bangs peeking through over one side of her forehead in a piecey fan-shaped design. The actress previously debuted her bangs in July. She tagged her hairstylist Adir Abergel, in an Instagram post at the time, writing, “Bangs came to play.

Reflecting on the honor of receiving the Icon Award, Theron said, “I’m always a bit like, ‘Is it a dream? It real?’ But of course it’s really lovely, you know?”
She added, “I feel like my love for the work is so immense that it gives me the calm and resolve that whatever happens to it afterwards is what happens to it. And that’s the only thing I can really control, you know? And I have never, ever done anything where I’ve hoped for something or I had a bar that I wanted to reach as far as audiences go.”
