The Lakers held a 103-100 lead entering the fourth quarter after Dončić produced 39 points through the first three quarters.

"Luka was incredible with his shot-making and playmaking," guard Austin Reaves told ESPN 710 about Doncic.

Doncic hit a pair of big shots to close out the second and third quarters of the game. He hit a stepback 3-pointer to close out the third period to give the Lakers a 103-100 lead.

While Los Angeles trailed by as many as 18 points during the first half, the Lakers took their first 3-point lead to the locker room at halftime after Dončić poured in his first 25 points.

Dončić created an opportunity for the Lakers to jump ahead, stealing the ball from second-year player Ace Bailey under the Jazz basket and walking it down the court.

The Slovenian star created space with a move that made Bailey slip before Dončić hit the 3-point shot.

Dončić added his name to the franchise record books, becoming the fastest Laker to score 3,000 points. The guard reached the feat in 95 games, beating out George Mikan (106) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (109).
